Would you like to help save an animal's life?
There are many ways that you can help needy animals in Richmond and the surrounding areas. There are great non-profit organizations that work relentlessly on behalf of animals in need. By adopting a pet from a rescue, you actually save two lives - the dog you adopt and you open a space for another animal to be rescued. You can volunteer your time at a rescue shelter or help out at adoption stands. Another great way to help is to provide a foster home for a pet awaiting a "forever-home".
Perhaps you cannot rescue or foster a pet in your home and don't know other ways you could help. Check out the link to the Freedom Train for a unique, very rewarding experience. Jennifer of Happy Paws did her first transport recently and it was such a rewarding experience.
We also have a new member of the family arriving soon! Our friend Buddy, will be fostered with Jennifer until he finds his forever home. Buddy is sponsored by Happe Pets.
Rescue groups are also always in need of pet food, blankets, Ukrop's golden certificates, money, love and your time.
2008 Richmond Animal League's Woofstock raised over $45,000 to help build a larger no kill shelter for Chesterfield County. Happy Paws Pet Sitters was glad to be able to volunteer at this great event.
